Membership
Membership in the Thread Artist Guild ® is inclusive of artists who hand make
miniature crocheted or knitted thread animals
(i.e. thread bunnies, bears, etc.), and other fibers created animals (i.e. needle
felting). All new members start out in the Novice or Apprentice category until the
documentation to move to other categories has been sent in. More information
will be sent upon membership approval. To apply for membership please fill

Membership dues are only $15 a year!

There are multiple categories of membership:
Novice - A member just beginning with
little or no previous experience in the making of thread or fiber creations, or
who has made less than 5 creations, and who needs a pattern or kit to make a
creation.
Apprentice - A member with some experience in the making of thread
or fiber creations, who has made more than 5 but less than 25 creations, and who
uses a pattern or kit the majority of the time.
Artist - A member creating with thread or
fibers in one or more format (crochet, needle felting, knitting, etc.), who has
made more than 25 creations in one format and can make a creation without the
use of a pattern or kit. (It is expected that this will be the majority of
members). Must be an Apprentice member of the guild to apply for this category.
Journeyman - A member who is skilled in
working with thread and/or fibers, works primarily in one or more formats
(crochet, needle felting, knitting, etc.). Must be an Artist member of the guild
to apply for this category.
Master Artist - A member capable of
creating in a minimum of 5 formats (crochet, needle felting, knitting, plus 2
other formats of their choice - i.e. tatting, embroidery, macramé, etc.), who
has demonstrated creativity of design, style and color and the ability to make
unique creations. Member must be a Journeyman member of the Guild to apply for
this category.
Patron - One who sponsors and supports the guild and it's activities, but
does not actively make thread or fiber creations. Patrons can use the Thread Artist
Guild Member Logo
to indicate they support our membership even though they themselves may not
actually make thread or fiber creations.
Honorary Member - Title granted to a non-guild member who has shown
outstanding and extraordinary support of the Guild and the industry as a
whole.
